Types of Import from Ohio to Canada
There are two types of import when you ship a car from Ohio to Canada – temporary and permanent. Temporary import is for customers who will live in a specific location for a period of time, e.g. while studying or working a temporary job. Permanent import is for vehicles that are unlikely to leave Canada again.
Both types of import require that the appropriate paperwork is completed, and we’re happy to take care of that for you. Temporary import regulations that your vehicle may not be sold in Canada and the car must change ownership within the US, but this is nothing to worry about – again, we can help you with this process.
Permanententry requires clearance being obtained for crossing the border, as well as a tax payment due to the import. The costs associated with this can be reduced as determined by your personal situation, and we’re happy to advise on the best course of action when you choose to ship a car from Ohio to Canada.
