Importing from Michigan to Canada
Shipping your car to Canada will be as either a temporary import or as a permanent entry. The difference is simply that temporary import isfor customers who are temporarily living in a specific location, (perhaps for a job or study) while permanent entry is for vehicles that won’t be leaving Canada again.
It is a requirement that vehicles entering as a temporary import must not be sold in Canada, and if required ownership must change within the US. We’re happy to guide you through this part of the process.
Permanent entry requires clearance to be obtained for crossing the border, along with an import tax payment which will vary based on your situation. We’ll assist with all the paperwork that is required and we’ll guide you through the entire process when you ship a car from Michigan to Canada.
