Shipping Cars While Deployed
Thank you to all of our military men and women for your services. Because you protect our country men and women, it is our duty as an auto transport company to protect your vehicle and get it to you safely while being deployed. While this upcoming deployment may not be your first deployment, this may be the first time you have had to deploy your family with you. Moving is a difficult situation to begin with, but it becomes more difficult when you are stressed out about things that can easily be in someone else’s hands, like shipping cars while deployed. Working with an auto transport company allows you the chance to focus on your military tasks instead of how your car will get to your new location.

Steps to Take When Shipping Cars While Deployed
It is important that customers understand that deployment is not a simple process. However, there are easy steps you can take in order to make the entire situation more bearable.
Service your Car
You don’t want to risk not being able to drive your vehicle when you finally arrive at your new home. You also don’t want your family to be without a car while you are away. The best way to handle these potential problems is to ensure any and all damages to your car are serviced before you leave.
Decide the Right Storage
If you are able to store your vehicle within a personal garage, then you already have your storage. However, not every person has that luxury. If you are not traveling with a family and will be gone for an extended period of time, you don’t want to leave your vehicle out in the open. Check with family members or friends or try to find a storage facility that you can keep your car in safely while away.
Make Duplicate Keys
Things happen, and that’s okay. Sometimes your spouse’s car breaks down and they have to borrow yours while you are away. Having an extra set of keys will allow your spouse the chance to drive your car without fear of going without transportation while their car is being serviced. Your car might also need to be moved in an emergency situation. Having those extra keys means the person watching your car can easily get it to safety.
Check your Insurance and Documents
Car insurance can be an expensive expense. Our suggestion is to double check with your insurance provider if there is a way to lower payments if your car will not be driven for months at a time. They may be able to provide you with liability, or whatever the most basic form of insurance they have is. Also keep in mind that your important car paperwork should not come with you overseas, so try to find a safe place for those as well.
Shipping your Car
Once all your paperwork is finished and you’ve completed all the steps listed above, it is time to ship your vehicle. Don’t be one of the people who waits until the last minute to ship. Depending on the time of year and the location you plan to ship, you may run into bumps if your transport is done at the last minute. That is not fun for someone being deployed, as it causes you to stress about your car while also stressing about military tasks. Book your transport early so that you can have peace of mind before you go overseas.
